You have stuff very near, and yet it feels very secluded. You feel as though you have your own private mountain retreat, but you’re only ten minutes from downtown Waynesville. And that’s really hard to find.
We like the simple nature of the community – it’s not overbuilt, which was important to us. It feels very wooded and very natural and very peaceful here.
What brought us to Avalon? The answer to that question is very simple: location, location, location. Waynesville is wonderful, Lake Junaluska is gorgeous, and the access from Avalon to other cities, in and out of the area, is second to none.
I must say that finding our lot in Avalon has been like a wonderful, grand finale at this time in our lives. Avalon offered us a convenient location with nearby amenities and that country-like setting away from all the hustle of city life.
We chose Avalon for several reasons, such as gorgeous mountain views, high elevation, hiking trails, walkable community, and low HOA fees. Perhaps most importantly, everyone in the neighborhood is friendly, warm, and kind.
