There are thousands of miles to explore- some famous and some not so famous. Cool thing is living at Avalon puts you 30 minutes from  endless hikes. And you can just wake up and pick. The Qualla Boundary/Cherokee? Max Patch? or should we just stay home and trek Merlin’s Trail right inside Avalon.

Family Hiking

For a more leisurely walk, take advantage of the 2.6 mile Waynesville Greenway. It’s just minutes down the mountain from Avalon and it winds gently around Lake Junaluska. Either way, you’ll discover why so many people come to the oldest mountain range on earth to explore and find their spirit of adventure.
